EP’s English Week festivities continue as Secondary 1 students showcase their hard work from a recent formative assessment. This assessment featured an essay competition, with the winning entries proudly displayed for the school community.
Instructed by Mr. Andrew Taylor and Ms. Piyachat Emkowit, students spent a few lessons planning and making notes for their for-and-against essays on relevant topics, such as school uniform policies and the use of iPads in the classroom, before writing their final piece in a timed lesson.
The final submissions were evaluated by a panel of judges, including Mr. Howard Lee (Head of English), Mr. Sebastian Bennett (Head of Foreign Teachers), Mr. Graeme Kay (Foreign Teacher Co-ordinator), and secondary English teachers Mr. Jonathan Presland and Mr. Sean Finn. The judges assessed the students on content organization, language use, and accuracy.
