The English Program organized an exciting Physics STEM Activity for S3 SMART students, led by Associate Professor Dr. Wannapong Triampote from the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University.

The workshop featured two engaging STEM engineering challenges that encouraged students to apply physics concepts through hands-on learning while developing critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

🎢 Roller Coaster Engineering Challenge
Students designed and constructed their own roller coaster tracks to transport a marble to the finish line. Through testing and improving their designs, they explored the relationship between kinetic energy and gravitational potential energy, gaining a deeper understanding of energy transfer, motion, and the engineering design process.

⚖️ The Invisible Scale – Measuring Mass Without a Scale
Working in teams, students designed and built simple balance devices using everyday materials to compare the masses of different objects. This activity allowed them to investigate the concepts of mass, force, equilibrium, and balance while practising scientific investigation and improving their designs through experimentation.

Throughout the workshop, students actively collaborated, tested their ideas, analysed results, and refined their solutions.

These authentic STEM experiences helped strengthen their confidence in applying scientific knowledge to real-world challenges while fostering curiosity, innovation, and a lifelong interest in science and engineering.

The English Program extends its sincere appreciation to Associate Professor Dr. Wannapong Triampote from the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, for sharing his expertise and providing our students with this inspiring and valuable learning experience.
